Design Criteria

The design criteria for a product includes the requirements of the target audience and the requests of the client.

Requirements of the Target Audience

For each of the characteristics of the target audience is there a requirement which needs to be included in the product because of that characteristic.

Requirements of the Client (The person, organisation requesting the product)

Each organisation has specific requirements for the products they have created. These include things like company logo’s and colours.

Example: Maths Test

Requirement of the Target Audience

Test should be written in English.
Can only include words that 12 years old’s would know

Requirement of the Client

Should state the Year level.
Must include a space for the student to write their name.
Should have the school logo

Example: Movie Poster

Requirement of the Target Audience

– Age: 15 to 30
Demographics:
– Should appeal to teenagers and young adults
– Should be in English
– Show characters from the Marvel series
Geographical: – Include the location of the cinema

Requirement of the Client

Include that Marvel Logo
Use Marvel fonts
Show the faces of all the main characters
